A large modern copy of the bust of The Apollo Belvedere in the Vatican Museums.  The work has been dated to mid-way through the 2nd century A.D. and is considered to be a Roman copy of an original bronze statue created between 330 and 320 B.C. by the Greek sculptor Leochares. Apollo is the son of Zeus and Leto, and twin brother of the huntress Artemis.  Apollo was known as the archer and the god of light, who harnessed his chariot and moved the Sun across the sky.
