SIGNED EMPIRE BAROMETER

A large Empire period barometer with a finely carved pediment, decorated with quivers, doves and foliage. Late XVIII, early XIX century. Minor repairs and losses to gesso and gilding. Signed Carcano.

Antoine Carcano was a manufacturer of barometers, thermometers and inventor of scientific instruments, born around 1755 and died around 1820.
